Getting married in Georgia is a simple and straightforward process. The only mandatory documents are valid international passports. We handle all translations and notarization, so you only need to provide clear scanned copies.
If your ceremony includes witnesses, scanned copies of their passports will also be required. Any additional documentation, if necessary, can be discussed during a personal consultation.
The official marriage registration in Georgia is usually completed within 1–2 days. Both partners must be physically present during the application process as well as at the ceremony.
The choice of registration venue plays an important role in the overall atmosphere of your wedding day.
At the Justice House, the process is more formal: you submit your documents and wait until your marriage certificate is issued. Please note that photo and video recording is not allowed. The office operates from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The Wedding Palace offers a more ceremonial experience with music and a formal speech by the registrar. You can schedule a specific time for your ceremony, and professional photo and video coverage is permitted. The venue is open ежедневно from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
After your marriage is officially registered in Georgia, your marriage certificate may require an apostille or full legalization, depending on the legal requirements of your country.
The time required to obtain an apostille or complete legalization typically ranges from 1 to 11 working days, depending on the selected service option.
An apostille is recognized by countries that are part of the Hague Convention. You can find the full list of participating countries on the official resources.
If your country is not part of the Hague Convention, a full legalization process is required. This includes initial verification in Georgia followed by additional authentication at the relevant embassies in Tbilisi, such as those of the UAE and Qatar.
