Kazbegi is a place that takes your breath away — literally. At an altitude of over two thousand meters, surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Greater Caucasus, a wedding ceremony becomes something truly extraordinary. The Holy Trinity Church (Gergeti) set against the backdrop of Mount Kazbek is perhaps the most iconic wedding image to come from Georgia.
Why Couples Choose Kazbegi
Kazbegi is more than just a beautiful view. It is the energy of the mountains, the purest air, a starlit sky with not a single light on the horizon, and the feeling of standing at the edge of the world. Here, time slows down and everything trivial fades away.
- Unparalleled scenery — snow-capped peaks, lush alpine meadows, gorges, and waterfalls
- Intimate atmosphere — Kazbegi is ideal for weddings of 2 to 30 guests
- Incredibly photogenic — every shot looks like a National Geographic cover
- Easy to reach — just 2.5 hours from Tbilisi along the scenic Georgian Military Highway
Best Venues in Kazbegi
Rooms Hotel Kazbegi
A five-star hotel with a stunning view of Mount Kazbek. A panoramic terrace with a fireplace, a stylish restaurant, and a spa. You can hold the ceremony, the reception, and accommodate all your guests here. The sunset view from the terrace is one of the finest panoramas in all of Georgia.
Gergeti Church
An outdoor ceremony by the walls of a 14th-century church at an elevation of 2,170 meters. A mountain road leads to the church (we arrange the ascent in off-road vehicles). This is not an official registration but a symbolic ceremony — yet this is exactly where those breathtaking photographs are captured.
Alpine Meadows
For those who want the closest possible connection with nature — a ceremony on a green meadow overlooking the mountains. We create an arch of fresh flowers, arrange seating for guests, and design a dedicated ceremony area. Afterward, you can enjoy a picnic with Georgian wine.
How to Plan a Wedding in Kazbegi
Season
The best time is from June through September. June is still cool (15–20°C), but the meadows are covered in wildflowers. July and August are the warmest months. September brings golden autumn colors and clear skies. Winter weddings are also possible — for adventurous couples who dream of snow-covered peaks and hot mulled wine.
Logistics
We arrange transfers from Tbilisi (or from the airport) in comfortable vehicles. The drive itself is scenic: Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri Fortress, the Gudauri ski resort, and the Friendship Monument arch. Many couples make stops along the way for photo sessions.
Plan B for Bad Weather
Mountain weather is unpredictable — clouds can cover the summit in 15 minutes. We always prepare a backup plan: a covered terrace, a banquet hall with panoramic windows, or a tent. In six years of work, not a single wedding in Kazbegi has been ruined by the weather — we simply adapt the plan.
"When the clouds parted and we saw Mount Kazbek right in the middle of our vows — every guest gasped. It felt like a sign from above."
